Every Thursday we eat together delicious food cooked by some of our members. We know that cooking for a large group is often scary, and for this reason we have created this page, where you can find some of the recipies our cooks have used. Hopefully you can find some inspiration in them !

If you have any doubt, don´t hesitate to ask for help; More experienced WSF cooks will be happy to answer your questions.

Lentil soup

This recipe is really easy, really good, and can be done for a big number of people :)
(x4 people, upscale it with easy math)
  • 500g potatoes
  • 500g red lentils
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 slice of ginger
  • curry powder
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1-2 dices of vegetable broth
  • bay leaf
  • 1 leek
  • 1-2 carrots
  • fresh herbs of choice
Just peel and cut the potatoes, fry the onion, add enough water to boil the potatoes and the lentils and add ingredients in the following order: potatoes, lentils, carrots, broth, leek, ginger, bay leaf, and in the end the coconut milk and curry powder.
You could also buy some bread and hummus to go with the soup.

Cuccumber, pea and lettuce soup

This recipe was adapted from bbc good food, it is quick and easy to cook :)
It was served with smashed potato and carrot as a side dish.
(x30 people)
  • spring onions
  • 7 cucumber
  • 5 large round lettuce
  • 1kg frozen peas
  • vegetable bouillon
  • soya yogurt (optional)
Chop everything and put it in a pan with water. Once cooked, blitz the mixture with a hand blender until smooth. Serve with yogurt and bread alongside.

Chickpea salad

This is a very simple and quick recipe because it does not need to cook !
It is also easy to customize: you can add or remove ingredients and it will still be good :)
(x20 people)
  • 1 big jar of olives (935g) - bought a jar this size in Jumbo
  • 4 cans of Chickpeas of 425g
  • 4 Cuccumber
  • 2 Lemon
  • 1.5kg Cherry tomatoes
  • 2 Red onion
  • Parsley (or other herbs of choice)
  • Olive oil, pepper and salt to taste
Cut the vegetables and mix them in a big bowl. Add the chickpeas, and add also the oil, lemon juice and the herbs. Mix everything again and taste it. Correct the taste by adding whatever you think it is missing.

Enjoy!
