Jonathan Arentoft (Chair)Hi, this is your chair Jonathan here at the WSF and I am currently doing my MSc in Organic Agriculture in Wageningen. While I am studying OA on a rather theoretical level every day, the WSF gives me the opportunity to put all my knowledge in to practice and learn new things! The WSF encompasses all the things – large and small – that are important to me. Learning through practice – for example trying to figure out why a certain compost recipe does not look like the picture shows. Or building ties with people and a place, by changing the landscape of Wageningen as we are doing at the field, but also by enjoying a drink together. You can always get in touch with me about pretty much anything here at the WSF.
Cheers, J Nikita (Commissioner of Activities)Hi dear people! I’m Nikita (20) and I will be commissioner of activities for the coming year. I’m studying the BSc Plant Sciences and the Thursdays with WSF are truly my recharging day. When I first joined WSF in my first year, I was quickly smitten by all the lovely people of WSF, their endless enthusiasm and kindness. After being active with the Brewthers & Sisters and helping with cooking on Thursdays, I decided to join the board to hopefully add my little nugget of effort and value into WSF. As commissioner of activities I’ll help people of WSF set up workshops and create new projects. If you’ve got an idea you’d want to do with all of WSF, don’t hesitate to shoot me a message. See you around 😊
Nikki van Roekel (Secretary)Hi everyone I am Nikki van Roekel (19) and the new secretary of WSF. I currently study Animal Sciences, yes I know not the most popular study among the farm members, but besides animals I also have an obsession with plants. Anyways I joined the farm because I wanted to meet new chill people and that definitely worked out for me. It's just very relaxing to just play around in the dirt every once in a while to let your brain rest while in the meantime meeting super nice people! I joined the board because i wanted to be a bit more involved in the actual management of the farm, just getting a peak behind the curtains, and I have been enjoying it a lot so far! Feel free to contact me, I am almost always open for questions or just fun conversations 😊,
Lone Pollet (Commissioner of communication)Ciao! My name is Lone and I am a first year BIL (bachelor) student. I am a passionate soul about self-sufficiency, healthy food and sustainable ways of producing and consuming food. I traveled for the past 2 years, visiting farms to get knowledge in order to, one day, start a farm myself. For the moment, I am super happy to use all the things I know to help WSF being even more beautiful. More than that, I am in board to share these beauties on social media and manage the communication part of our little community. I take care of the website and try to keep everyone connected in these harder corona times. I cannot wait to meet you all in real though!! Much Love <3

Clara (Field Commissioner)Hey, I'm Clara,
I came to Wageningen this August and since then I've been enthusiastic about the student farm! I study biology and I'm also really interested about Selfsufficiency and learning how to do things with my own hands. I got hooked in Sweden where I stayed on a permaculture farm for a few months and learned a lot. What I really like about the student farm is that there is a lot of people that are interested in a specific aspect, so that you get the opportunity to learn from everyone and try everything. Let's get working together, I look forward to meeting you all! Helen de Bruijn (Field Commissioner)Hi I’m Helen (20), I will be the new field commissioner of WSF together with Clara. I am in my third year of Bsc Plant Sciences, trying to learn more about nutrition and practical agricultural practices as Permaculture and Agroforestry. This is one of the reasons I joined WSF very early in my first year in Wageningen. Growing plants for a purpose, learning everything connected to organic agriculture, but also always meeting new people, and getting energy from working on the field while getting to know new people, even when you’ve had a rough day. I became more active my second year, when I joined the picking garden, which was already a lot of fun, then I thought I want to do more for WSF, because I know I will get a lot of love and energy back. Clara and I will be responsible for connecting the field, with the project leaders, the board and all the members of WSF, also meeting with external contacts and developing new ideas. We will try to keep you motivated during winter and especially during these current times. Let us know if you’ve got any ideas that you want to implement for WSF, or just want to have a chat, hopefully we will meet in real life 😊.
Lenka (Treasurer)Hoi! My name is Lenka (20) and I am studying BSc Soil, Water,
Atmosphere. WSF is the first place in Wageningen where I felt like I am home. This is why I decided to give something back to its community by joining the board. Making and having dinner with friends, with food we grew together, is what makes me happy. It can’t be simpler than that. Besides the social aspect of WSF, I love being in contact with nature. So, I get that with all the weeding and digging at the field! This year I will be the treasurer of WSF, so I hope that I will help you turn your cool ideas into actual projects with the available budget! Feel free to contact me for finances, or just to have a beer. |
